NAMI Broward County to host “NAMIWalks” on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at Nova Southeastern University.
· NAMIWalks is about people who think nothing of giving everything - their time, their stories, their heartfelt dedication to the cause: Mental Health for All. Join us at our annual 5K walk as we fuel mental health awareness and let people know they are not alone!
· Funds raised from the event will help NAMI Broward County reach their goal of helping thousands of people in Broward County with mental health conditions and their families/caregivers by providing support services they need at no cost.
· NAMI Broward County is dedicated to the eradication of the stigma associated with mental illnesses and to the improvement of the quality of life for all individuals affected by these diseases. The non-profit organization provides free support groups, education classes and seminars, legislative advocacy, and information to the Broward County mental health community. Programs include Family-to-Family, Peer-to-Peer, Basics, Ending the Silence, and participation in Crisis Intervention Training (CIT) for law enforcement personnel, among others.
