Description
Art Fort Lauderdale Will Be Returning For Our 2nd Annual "Art Fair On The Water" January 25th-28th 2018!
Event Details
Art Fort Lauderdale is a 4-day curated art fair that transports attendees on a journey along the famed Intracoastal waterways via water taxi and private yacht with stops at vacant multi-million dollar waterfront properties that feature emerging artists exhibiting various styles and methods of art that reflect the past, the present and the future. This destination art fair seeks to highlight the uniqueness of the city and put Fort Lauderdale on the art world map as a premiere location to view, interact with and purchase art along with giving art aficionados, residents and visitors a cultural experience that is memorable, interactive and engaging.
Applications are now open for artists and galleries that represent top tier modern and contemporary art. The fair is also seeking site-specific art installations, art/technology and performance pieces that will be featured in the unique intracoastal properties/pavilions.
“Fort Lauderdale is best known for its Intracoastal Waterways and this fair highlights the uniqueness of the city in a deeply immersive and engaging way while allowing people to visit and view art in luxury properties only viewed from a distance by most,” said Andrew Martineau, Founder, Art Fort Lauderdale. When people go on this intracoastal journey they have the opportunity to ponder on the work they were just able to experience as they go from property to property thereby creating a memorable adventure that is both engaging and relaxing.”
Art fairs are one of the most powerful platforms for galleries and artists to connect face to face with an audience of dedicated buyers and account for over 40 percent of most galleries revenue and $13 billion of worldwide art sales. However, the decline in attendance over the years is evidence of its need for replenishment and an opportunity to create something unique - an artistic journey within an art fair if you will.
The fair’s first year got incredible reviews from attendees and was a catalyst for a number of art related events that the co-Founders Andrew Martineau and Evan Snow have been producing at multiple venues throughout the year.
